Internal Printer Features


A. Output hopper - Collects the printed or encoded cards

B. Input hopper - Loads the cards for printing


A maximum 100 cards can be loaded when the cover is closed. A maximum 200 cards can be loaded when the cover is opened.


C. Card thickness control lever - Adjusts to thickness of cards

D. Ribbon cartridge - Holds printer ribbon and cleaning roller

E. Thermal printhead - Enables printing


The thermal printhead is hot after printing. Do not touch its surface with fingers or objects. Doing so could reduce print quality or permanently damage the thermal printhead.

Display Statuses and Buttons

The CIX900 printer has five statuses: Initializing, System Ready, Printing, Error, and Top Cover Open.


Initializing: The printer is booting up.

System Ready: The printer is ready. 

Printing: A print job is in progress. 

Error: An error has occurred. 

Top Cover Open: The top cover is open.


The LCD display shows printer statuses. 


Buttons to the left and right of the display screen perform different functions depending on the status shown.

Hardware Setup


1. Plug the printer's power cord into a power outlet


2. Plug the printer's USB cord into the computer


The CIX900 should display an "Initializing" Status indicating it is booting up.
