Introduction

CR-One is a connected card reader used for designated student ID interactions. Depending on your district’s setup, students may tap a physical ID card or mobile ID at specific locations or service points.

CR-One does not continuously track student location. Each tap captures a snapshot of the interaction, including where and when it occurred.

How to Use CR-One

Note: The reader will display a rainbow light when it is properly configured and ready for use.

  1. Have the student tap their ID on the signal icon located on the front of the reader.
  2. Hold the ID steady for 1–2 seconds.
  3. A blue light and tone indicate a successful tap. A red light indicates an unsuccessful tap.
  4. If a tap fails:
    • Make sure the ID is positioned correctly on the reader.
    • Confirm that the cable is securely connected.
    • Disconnect and reconnect the reader from its power source, if needed.
