Use this guide to understand how CR-One may be used at your campus, how students should tap their ID, and what to check if a tap is not successful.
TABLE OF CONTENTS
Introduction
CR-One is a connected card reader used for designated student ID interactions. Depending on your district’s setup, students may tap a physical ID card or mobile ID at specific locations or service points.
CR-One does not continuously track student location. Each tap captures a snapshot of the interaction, including where and when it occurred.
How to Use CR-One
Note: The reader will display a rainbow light when it is properly configured and ready for use.
- Have the student tap their ID on the signal icon located on the front of the reader.
- Hold the ID steady for 1–2 seconds.
- A blue light and tone indicate a successful tap. A red light indicates an unsuccessful tap.
- If a tap fails:
- Make sure the ID is positioned correctly on the reader.
- Confirm that the cable is securely connected.
- Disconnect and reconnect the reader from its power source, if needed.
