Printer: Set Printer to Default

Modified on Tue, 23 Jan 2024 at 10:12 AM

In Windows and MacOS, clients can set the card printer as default to skip the client's browser from asking to set printer before printing cards. By setting the printer to default and skipping a step, clients are able to quickly print ID cards.

The card printer must be set as your computer's default printer when using ID Print.

Windows 10 and up

1. Open Window's search bar and type Printer & Scanners > Click Printers & Scanners

You should see a list of printers and scanners connected to your computer.

2. On the bottom of the page, uncheck the box that says Let Windows manage my default printer

If box is already unchecked, skip step 2.

3. Find the card printer in the list > Click on Printer

4. Click Manage

5. Click Set as Default

macOS

1. Open the System Preferences app

2. Click Printer & Scanners

You should see a list of printers and scanners connected to your computer.

3. Select the card printer in the Default Printer menu
